Packaging & Shipping


 
We cover the top and bottom parts of the pole with a mat or straw bale in order to protect it from damage to the galvanized surface that may occur during transportation. Packaging can also be done according to clients’ requirements.
 

Tests

Type tests (essais de qualification)

  • The performance tests of poles shall be borne by the supplier.
  • EDCL requires that the following performance tests must be conducted in presence of a representative of EDCL before the first delivery.

Examinations of the poles (visual and dimensional monitoring)

  • Dimensional Characteristics: the height, dimensions at the top end and the base, straightness of pole.
  • Finished aspect inspection:
  • well finished welding: absence of blisters filling and cuttings (“colmatage et bouture”) of soldering wire.
  • well finished Galvanization: absence of extra thickness, needles, flow remains, joining and black spots.
  • Markings and indications.
  • Presence of mechanical protection at the top and at the base of the pole.
  • Presence of earthing terminals

 

Coating Quality control:

In accordance with ISO 1461 standards or equivalent: Thickness Control of galvanization coating and Quality control of zinc (bath of galvanization).

 

Quality control of steel

A report relating to the quality of steel intended for manufacturing of the ordered poles, and in accordance with steel quality control of EN 10025 standard or equivalent must be provided to EDCL.

 

Acceptance tests

Acceptance tests shall be done in factory and will be borne by the supplier. Tests will be sanctioned by statements signed by the present parts. EDCL reserves the right to be represented in these tests.

Sampling will be done in accordance with the stipulations of the international standard and on the following basis:

  • Level of control: S2
  • Normal simple control: it is supposed that moving to reduced or reinforced control will be done in accordance with the stipulations of the abovementioned standard.
  • Acceptable Level of quality (ALQ): 2.5. Moving from normal control to reduced or reinforced control will be made in accordance with the international standard.

 

Acceptance tests shall include the following tests:

A. visual and dimensional monitoring of poles; finished visual aspect inspection

  • Well finished welding: blisters absence, filling and cuttings of soldering wire.
  • Well finished galvanization: absence of extra thickness, needles, remains flow, joining and black spots.

B. Dimensions Inspection 

  • Dimensional Characteristics: Height, dimensions at the top end and the base.
  • Presence of mechanical protection at the top and at the base of the pole.
  • Thickness Control of galvanization coating. In accordance with the international standard.

 
Process of Production


Verification of Materials → Cutting → Molding or Bending → Vertical Welding → Verification of Dimensions → Flange Welding → Hole Drilling → Calibration→ Deburring Process → Galvanizing, Powder Coating or Painting → Recalibration → Threading → Packaging
